Galileo X Ground Mobility Platform
Galileo X is a next-generation general-purpose ground mobility platform introduced by Galileo Robotics at the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing. Galileo describes the system as an “Embodied Ground Mobility System” built to bridge the conventional separation between wheeled AGVs, vehicle-type off-road platforms, and legged robots.
The platform is based on Galileo’s proprietary Unified Embodied Ground Mobility System, combining integrated hardware architecture with a unified control framework. According to the launch release, this framework coordinates mechanics, actuation, perception, and control so the same robotic foundation can support precise indoor transport, long-range off-road mobility, and complex-terrain traversal.
Mobility Concept
Galileo X is positioned as a multimodal ground robot platform rather than a single-purpose warehouse vehicle or conventional quadruped. It is intended to combine the high-precision movement expected from automated guided vehicles with the outdoor range and terrain capability associated with vehicle-based and legged robotics.
Applications
- Heavy-duty off-road handling
- Warehouse logistics and directional transfer
- Inspection and perception platforms
- Mobile operation platforms
- Mobile chassis applications for humanoid robots
Technology Foundation
Galileo states that the Galileo X platform draws on its in-house robot platforms, core components, motion-control systems, and systems-engineering capabilities. The company plans to open hardware and software interfaces around Galileo X so algorithm developers, application service providers, and industry partners can build integrated solutions for specific operating environments.
